Okay, I made it through changing the engine oil/filter, fuel filter, but changing the transmission, rear axle, and hydraulic system oil raises some questions.
1) The drain plug(s) location on the class II HST bottom view is lousy (too small and very light) Is there another diagram on the WEB?
2) Is there excess oil in the HST and hydraulic filters so it spills all over when you remove them?
3) Are the transmission and HST oil system connected together?
4) If you can only drain out 7 gallons of fluid, should you only put 7 gallons back in?
5) Should you change the filters before the fluid? Just like car oil/filter change?
6) How much fluid can you expect to drain out? The TC33DA has a capacity of 8.8 gallons

4}yes, if your level was correct before draining
5}like a car, drain then replace and you could prefill the filters
6}most likely not the full amount ....

I have a 33D with 200 hrs---something to look for if yours has them too: the rubber elbows connecting the hyd. cooler lines to the cooler. My neighbor's split their sides and lost nearly all the fluid. Mine are split in several places with the cords showing---time to replace them and quick! According to my neighbor they are just heater hose elbows and not intended for hyd. fluid. Also if you do any brush hogging in heavy brush or trees watch for not-totally cut down trees standing back up between the front axle and the hydraulic fliter on the left side---mine got nearly skewered and gushed out gallons of fluid. ....

Actually at your 50Hr service you only change the hyd. filter not the oil it self. There will be some spillage while removing the filters. There are Two places where you can drain the hyd. fluid from. One is on the drop box on the mid PTO housing. The second is right behind that on the trans housing. If you have a mmm you will have too remove the deck to access either drain. ....

funny you should mention those rubber hoses breaking, as I was using my box blade tonight I lost about 2 gallons of fluid, the rubber hose going into the cooler split.
If these are just heater hose elbows should they be replaced with something different? Is there a better grade hose to use that won't be prone to crack so easily?

The only hose elbow problem I've had on my TC33D is leakage past the hose clamp. It would always seep at the connections until one day it started to flow heavily. The fan had sucked alot of the oil through the radiator and blew it all over everything under the hood. Yes, everything is rustproofed now. I doubled up on the clamps and washed the tractor and it has been ok since then. ....
